Makeup Tools for Professionals

Tools of a Professional Makeup Artist

A professional makeup artist has a lot of tools of the trade that he or she brings to every job. This professional needs to be sure that the makeup suits the person that he or she is working on. Each person has a particular skin tone and eye color that need to be shown in their best light. Here are some examples of the tools found in a professional makeup artist's bag.

A collection of hairbrushes is a must-have for a professional makeup artist. He or she must have a brush that is appropriate for the client's hair. For instance, if the client wants more volume, then the makeup artist must have a brush that makes the person's hair look thicker. A collection of hairbrushes must be clean and in great condition for every client.

Next, a professional makeup artist has lots of colors of both eye shadow and blush. Once again, it's important to choose the proper shades of color for a particular client. There is really no single color that is best for every client. A professional makeup artist knows how to determine which colors are appropriate for a person and which are not.

Finally, a professional makeup artist has many practical tools for applying makeup. Some examples include a mascara applicator, an eyebrow pencil and eyeliner. Some professionals use tools like an airbrush for makeup. It all depends on the preferences of the makeup artist and what he or she feels comfortable with. This is important if the best possible job is to be done.

Anti Aging Wrinkle Cream

Nobody wants to look old and crotchety. People enjoy having young looking skin that is free of wrinkles. Unfortunately, as people age, they are sure to get lines and wrinkles. The good news is that there is a solution to this problem, and people are able to look younger for a longer period of time.

Keeping the Skin Moist

Using some type of moisturizer every day is a good way to help stave off the wrinkles. Wrinkles are more prone to happen when the skin is in a dry state most of the time. When the skin is moist, on the other hand, it remains hydrated and wrinkles are less likely to appear.

Using a Specialized Wrinkle Formula

Of course, using the moisturizer is only half the battle. Because moisturizer is only to help keep wrinkles at bay, it must be used in combination with a formula that is used to keep the skin wrinkle free. There are many wrinkle treatment formulas on the market, and it helps to do research in order to choose only the best.

Because people want to use what works and not waste their precious hard earned money, they will search for more info on JeNu and other well-known formulas. When they have found something that has a good reputation, they are likely to buy and use it. After they have followed the regimen to keep skin young and healthy looking, aged skin will be transformed. The fear of looking old and crotchety will be a moot point.

Britain's Most Beautiful Woman

A year and a half ago the British media made a big fuss about the woman above, Florence Colgate, and called her Britain's Most Beautiful Woman because she was "mathematically perfect".

The idea was that her face was perfectly symmetrical and well proportioned. And that symmetry was beautiful.

Well a year and a half later I am going to call BOGUS!

I am not saying the photos are photoshopped (although they probably are), but what I am going to say is that I don't think she is that beautful.

Why?

Because she is boring to look at. It is too perfect, too symmetrical and waaaaaaaay too boring.

Her face has almost no personality.

And call me a naysayer if you want, but I think it is a person's personality that bubbles forth and makes a person MORE beautiful because of the way they smile, make faces, show emotion. The photo at the top for example is more bubbly than the symmetry photo above... but neither of them are bursting with real emotion.

Now here is the thing... I also think the whole thing was a scam to promote people to get facial reconstruction surgery / plastic surgery, etc. People would see the media articles and go "My face isn't symmetrical! I should get surgery..."

I wouldn't be surprised if the whole thing was organized by the plastic surgery industry in Britain (which by the way, is one of the world's leading places to get plastic surgery).

I even checked. See the graphic below. Eyelid, face, neck, brow lifts surgery statistics all rose in 2012. Even the statistics for men concerning the face rose dramatically in 2012 - for men! Which means even men were going out and getting eyelid surgery, face lifts, neck lifts, etc.

It really makes me an advocate of makeup.

I would much rather see people try to beautify themselves with makeup than slowly turn themselves into monsters using plastic surgery.

Just google plastic surgery mistakes sometime... or look at all the celebrities who have ruined their faces with plastic surgery. Or even ruined their careers.

Remember the actress Jennifer Grey from Dirty Dancing?

You wouldn't recognize her today. She had a nose job a few years after Dirty Dancing and her face is now unrecognizable. See the before and after photo below. That nose job ruined her career.

And personally I thought she was more attractive with her original nose.

How to Make Your Breasts Look Bigger

Say what...

No seriously. You can make your breasts look bigger - without surgery and without stuffing your bra or bikini.

Call it one of those things that women like to do when they know they want to look "really good". Like when you have a super hot date and you want to look your absolute best.

And there is nothing wrong with wanting to look your best for special occasions.

How to Make Your Breasts Look Bigger

#1. Do Push Ups, Bench Presses and similar Bust Firming Exercises - Exercise will make your breasts look more perky and bigger.

Note: I cannot emphasis this one enough. Bust Firming Exercises really work and women have been doing them for decades. Even Marilyn Monroe did Bust Firming Exercises. They help you keep the shape of your breasts as you get older too, so even though you are 40 or 50 you could have the breasts of a 25 year old.

#2. Wear Two Bras - Extra Support = More Cleavage.

#3. Pin the back straps of your bra(s) together with a safety pin. Note, doing this will hurt because it will be really tight and squeeze your breasts together, so you don't want to be doing this very often.

#4. Using your hands, lift your breasts a bit and position them upwards so they look bigger.

#5. Makeup - Tanner, Lotion, Bronzers... extra colour in the area above the breasts makes them look bigger because there is more depth perception. Glitter and shimmer also work to add details and show off more shape.

#6. Contour Makeup - Using makeup, you can add contours to make your cleavage and breasts look bigger.

#7. Push Up Bras and Corsets Rock.

These tips are designed to accentuate and take full advantage of what you already have at your disposal.

DO NOT USE TAPE - Yes, it will give you more lift, but what happen when one tape becomes loose and your one breast looks bigger than the other... which looks all droopy in comparison. Plus that won't work if you are wearing a bikini because everyone will see the tape.

DO NOT STUFF YOUR BRA WITH SOCKS OR KLEENEX - That just looks really fake. Plus you can't do that with a bikini anyway.

DO NOT GET SURGERY - Because then everyone will know they're fake - And the health risks and botched boob jobs just aren't worth it. Plus the surgery leaves a distinctive scar which can often be seen when you are wearing a bikini.

Seriously, if you can get awesome results with exercise, fashion and makeup why would you bother with anything else?

Valeria Lukyanova

The photos below are of Ukrainian fashion model Valeria Lukyanova, who uses makeup to make herself look like a real life Barbie Doll.

Oddly enough she doesn't accomplish this feat using cosmetic surgery. Everything is done with exercise and makeup (and a healthy dose of lucky genetics). See Valeria Lukyanova Exercising + Makeup at http://malebrainatwork.blogspot.ca/2012/12/valeria-lukyanova-exercising-makeup.html to learn more about how she manages to do it.

So I guess that is proof that hard work, exercise, healthy food and dab hand at makeup can do some pretty impressive things.

Now you might think, oh that is just photoshop! Except it isn't. Don't believe me? Click the link above and watch the videos of her exercising and you will see she really does look like that in real life.

15 Winter Beauty Tips

In the winter the cold air dries out your skin and hair and this can be disastrous if you don't take steps to protect your hair/skin from damaging effects.

How do you stop this???

1. Nourish your skin and keep it protected by using a moisturizer perfect for your skin type. I find products containing coconut oil work wonders.

2. Alcohol strips away moisture from your skin or hair, so avoid products with alcohol. (Oddly enough, this includes drinking alcohol... the extra alcohol in your blood reduces your hydration levels, which in turn dries out your skin. So try to drink in moderation.)

3. Drink lots of water and stay hydrated. Avoid coffee (too much caffeine is bad for your skin and your health in general, plus loss of sleep = loss of beauty) and drink non-caffeinated tea instead.

4. Chapped lips can also be a problem if you're outside regularly (whats the point of looking awesome if you can't go outside???). Use a lip balm that’s at least SPF 15.

5. Winter exercises are the hardest, but don’t give up on the exercise. Just hire a certified personal trainer in Toronto and stick with it! Personal trainers are great for getting you motivated in the winter to exercise.

6. Exfoliate! Dead cells tend to pile up during the Winter.

7. Get that healthy dose of sleep. Get at least 7 hours of sleep, if you can’t fit in 8 hours.

8. Take a 30 to 60 minute nap on weekends or after work. Think of it like a siesta. The extra sleep helps to heal and rejuvenate the skin.

9. Try to wear non-irritating fabrics. No harsh wools or itchy polyester.

10. Avoid over-washing your hair. Too much washing sucks the moisture out of your hair and leaves it dry and damaged.

11. Avoid chemical treatments such as perming or colouring to the hair as it may become brittle or extremely dried out.

12. Eat a balanced diet. Dark green and leafy vegetables are also effective in preventing dry skin and they also help fight infection.

13. When exercising outside dress warmly and moisturize your exposed skin parts before going outside (your face and hands).

14. Wear a hat which covers ALL of your hair. This will help protect your hair from dryness. Shop around for something fashionable that fits you perfectly.

15. Faux fur is awesome. It not only keeps you warm, but the warmth reduces dryness on your skin so you stay moisturized longer.

:)
