Practical and Fashionable!
There is a new fashion trend spreading across North America - and you can blame global warming.
Neck handkerchiefs.
It is very simple.
Neck handkerchiefs keep the sun off your neck, preventing a sunburn. Thanks to global warming, and higher number of days per year with record heat, your chances of a sunburn has gone up dramatically in the last couple of years. So to prevent that you need to either wear turtlenecks (which is impractical in the heat) or you can wear neck handkerchiefs and join the fashion savvy men and women who are already doing so.
Another thing to do, if you are super hot, is to dip the handkerchief in cold water, wring it out and then wrap it around your neck. Keeps your neck nice and cool.
Or do what I do, take 3 ice cubes, wrap them up in the handkerchief and then place so the ice cubes are at the back of your neck and as they melt they drip down your back, making a great cooling sensation. It is amazing! Works well at the beach too.
And the beauty is that this fashion trend works for both men and women, so we can both enjoy the benefits of no sunburns and a quick way to cool down.
You are basically just treating it like a really small scarf that can be dipped in cold water whenever you want. Smart and cool. Literally cool.

Black Suspenders for the Working Man - Or Woman!
I love shopping in menswear regularly. You find the greatest things sometimes.
Behold, Black Suspenders for the Working Man... But I think they would look great on me too. So I bought them.
I find they really accentuate whatever shirt I am wearing, drawing more attention to the shirt.
And they're practical, so yeah! Good for men and women!
And they're a great alternative to wearing a belt.

Men's Nursing Scrubs
Many times, gentlemen who work in the nursing profession feel like they have no good options when it comes to clothing for work. Scrubs can tend to be feminine and not allow a guy to look his best. However, the mens scrubs offered at Dickies will allow a guy to look great and feel great work.
Gentlemen who work in the nursing profession have a right to feel masculine and look the part at the same time. This is especially true when guys work in emergency rooms or high-pressure situations. They need to have a chance to feel like the strong nurse that they are. Therefore, the scrubs for men that Dickies offers are the only real option when dressing for work.
Dickies produces the best scrubs for gentlemen in the industry. Not only are they rugged and masculine, but they are designed to hold up under the high-stress work that guys do everyday as nurses.
When shopping for scrubs for men, remember to search Dickies and see all the scrub options they have. Their scrubs are better-designed, durable, and professional for the work environment. Guys can feel like themselves when they dress for work at a hospital or any medical office.

How to dress like a hoser, 4 Photos of Fashion Icon Peter Nygard
Here is an interesting topic for you if you like reading about celebrity fashion crimes.
How to dress like a hoser - while being a billionaire moron like Peter Nygard.
This is actually quite funny. You see Peter Nygard owns a women's fashion empire called Nygard International (don't buy from it, it is mostly sweatshop clothing) and lives in a James Bond mansion in the Bahamas complete with shark tanks and rumours of dead girls he fed to the sharks.
But in real life Peter Nygard doesn't really know how to dress himself.
Just look at the photos below and you realize that he really is clueless when it comes to men's fashion.
No shortage of arm candy here. Peter Nygard is renowned for his arm candy and treating women like prostitutes. But look at his hair up above? He looks like an aging rocker, and the clothes? He looks like he is trying to mix rugged jackets from the old west with foppish costumes and make it a tuxedo at the same time. And it has SHOULDER PADS, which suggests he is too fat and has weak shoulders. (George W. Bush also wore shoulder pads because he had weak shoulders.)
Yes, okay, it is the Bahamas. But do we really need to see his shaved hairless chest with saggy manboobs? Not sexy, not attractive, and what is that blurry thing on his left? Not sure, looks like stitching, but if it is meant to be a logo it is not well designed.
More arm candy. Except now he is wearing an armless shirt saying Nygard Cay 1. How much of a lame egotist do you have to be that you wear a shirt promoting your own home? The shirt reveals his saggy manboobs, his sagging gut and his skinny arms. Not attractive at all.
Below he has grey chest hair and saggy manboobs (and is a bit younger judging by his hair), but the wrinkles still show his age... but what the heck is that grey thing in the corner of his armpits? Is that there for a reason? Why does it need to be grey? He may own a fashion empire, but he is NOT a fashion designer. (And not much of a fashion icon either. Don't say this to his face however, he might feed you to the sharks.)

Kish - The Epitome of Men's High Fashion
Every Fashion Question Any Man Ever Had Has Been Answered By One Store - Kish
By D. Eze.
Fashion is usually a woman’s game. All the fashions show usually have women strutting their stuff down the runways of Milan, New York and Paris. Sure there are a few men’s collections, but for the most part it is usually women who get the most of the attention.
The fashion trends that come out of these fashions shows usually revolve around women and focus on what colours women should wear and what styles are the most fashionable this season.
Men are always the proverbial bridesmaids in this situation. Without the resources available to women, what can a man do if he wants to look good?
The truth is all men want to look good too, but they just don’t know how. They have no options on style, no information on trends and no opportunities to improve their looks.
Enter Kish Wear. This men’s fashion atelier solves men’s problems regarding style, affordability and quality.
With products that range from heavy winter coats to crisp white dress shirts, Kish provides every man with every possible need. The clothing also has the added benefit of being extremely fashionable as if they stepped of those runways I referred to earlier.
When I shop for pieces I always look for two things: how much will it cost me and does it look so good that I just can’t say no. I am happy to say that Kish takes care of both of my concerns pretty well. Below, I elaborate on why the price point and the style at Kish are just what you need to take the next step toward a more fashionable you.
Price Points
I decided to put together my own outfit just to see how much it would set me back. Upon first looking at the website, I have to admit the style and quality had me a bit worried that I might have to pay a hefty price for my desire to step my style game, but quickly learned that my worries were for not.
I put together a pretty amazing ensemble including Burgundy Incotex Slim-Fit Trousers made mostly of cotton and Elastane that were made in Albania, a nice Plain White Spread Collar Shirt that is crisp and clean made of cotton and polyester, and a pretty wonderful looking Knitted Italian Zipper Turtleneck Sweater made of polyester, viscose and alpaca for less than $200.00 dollars. At other stores I could be paying twice that for the same amount of quality and style.
This is a great three-piece outfit that I could pair up with things I already own to expand my wardrobe choices exponentially and I gain the ability to make my tired old clothing look extra special given the quality of the pieces.
Style
I have mentioned before that these cloths look like they came directly off the runway and I was not lying. The range of colours, patterns, cuts and fits all combine to make even the most unstylish schlub into model material.
Kish releases men from their black, navy blue, grey, and brown/tan prisons and lets them revel in the freedom of bold, interesting colours. Turquoise and burgundy are among some of the colours you can look forward to wearing with this atelier along with the mainstays listed above. You can mix and match with a broader range of hews and experiment with something you may not have considered wearing before.
The patterns are much more interesting too. You no longer have to choose between tartan and pinstrip, now you can be guided by whatever inspires you. One interesting patterned piece is a lovely blue and white water drop skirt that is definitely one of a kind.
Slim fit is unquestionably in and very much represented by Kish in a broad range of slim fit styles. Their European cut trousers and blazers are very trendy and will absolutely turn heads.
Asymmetry, dynamic cuts and clean lines are mainstays with this fashion house and are most prominent in their sweaters and jackets. Some prime examples are the Charcoal Grey Peacoat and the Knitted Italian Wool-Blend Brown Cardigan. If you want to look like you are forward thinking in terms of style give these wonderfully tailored pieces a try. One thing is for sure; your admirers will not believe the price.
There is no need to wonder what can I do to improve my style, Kish answers all of your questions with simple, clean, dynamic clothing. Pick and choose which pieces you think will make you look your best and walk with pride with your chic self.
So look no longer men, you have finally found your salvation. Be stylish, be bold, be daring and check out Kish. You sense of style will thank you for it.

Men's Jackets and Outerware
Men's outerwear is symbolic of a man's personality, and having the right
outwear for every occasion is important for the man that values style.
When gentlemen are wearing outwear with aplomb, they look like they are
master of their own domain, and this is very important for the guy who
wants to be in charge of his life and climb the ladder at work and at
home.
Peter Millar jackets are a significant step in styling a man who values his look every day. Whether he is heading to the office to close deals, taking him wife out for a nice dinner, or hiking alone on his day off, the discriminating gentleman must make wardrobe choices that add to his appeal.
When dressing for the weather, there are many forms of outerwear that will make him look fantastic and feel comfortable at the same time. His wife can snuzzle into the jacket during a cold carriage ride, the kids can hide under the jacket as the wind blows, and he can breeze into a business meeting looking like the sharpest person in the room. All of this can be achieved with well-styled and proper outerwear for gentlemen who know what they want out of life.

Male Swimsuits and why some men just can't go swimming...
Swimwear for men comes in two varieties.
#1. Skintight speedo-type swimwear which are made for men who are super hot and hunky. Like the one in the photo here, which is Hugo Boss swim shorts.
Or
#2. Really baggy ugly things called "swim trunks" designed to cover them up because many men are overweight / too skinny and feel self-conscious about other people staring at their junk.
It really comes down to whether the man falls into one of two categories...
Either they are buff and confident.
Or they overweight / too skinny and lack the confidence to strut their stuff with other people watching because their butt is too fat / too skinny and they are worried about how other people will look at them.
Women do the exact same thing. Every woman wants to wear a sexy bikini - but most American women can't do that because the average American is overweight or obese. It is not such a big deal in Canada, Europe, Asia or Africa - where people exercise and eat more healthily - but in the USA, most women buy a one-piece swimsuit in order to cover up her extra flab.
However with men its a bit bizarre... because even the skinny men still buy swim trunks in order to cover up. It is really only the buff / muscular men who feel confident enough to wear something which is skintight.
I think it comes down to the fact that our beauty standards are such that skinny women is desirable (with the exception of anorexics), but skinny men is not desirable.
And to prove this we just have to look at the fitness industry - where even buff women with lots of muscles still wear bikinis and wouldn't dream of wearing an one-piece swimsuit.
Back to swim trunks, I should point out that in advertising the swim trunks are still displayed on buff male models... because it would not encourage the men to buy them if they were shown on anorexic or overweight men, despite the fact that its mostly overweight and skinny men who buy swim trunks. And the more overweight or skinny the person is, the bigger and baggier the swim trunks will be. They're almost like parachute pants.
And while we are at it... when was the last time you saw a man wearing an one-piece swimsuit? Probably it was either a man who was REALLY OVERWEIGHT or it was pre-1950s...
A scuba gear wetsuit doesn't count.

Where to buy Kufi hats
Kufi hats are normally worn by Muslim men - but I would argue that they can be worn by ANYONE.
A friend of mine who teaches archery in Toronto is even looking to get one, just so his hair won't get in his eyes while he is trying to aim. So I could see it being useful for many people.
A Kufi hat is essentially a crochet toque with ample holes in it, designed so it keeps your hair in place, but isn't really hot - so you can wear it even on hot days.
Some Kufi hats have more holes than other Kufi hats - so there is some room for flexibility if you want one that is a tad warmer.
They even look really great on kids (boys and girls!), in a variety of different colours.
The only problem is WHERE to buy them. Online is a possibility. If you know of stores that cater to Muslim men and women, that is a good option too. I myself have only found one place that sells them (a Muslim book store), but there has to be many more places.
If you know of locations where a person can purchase Kufi hats (online or in person), please post it in the comments sections.

Men's Underwear: MeUndies Review
Okay so I have been trying out two pairs of men's underwear sent to me via a friend over in England. Since she doesn't wear men's underwear and knew that I write product reviews for Product Reviews Canada that I at least have experience with writing reviews (including fashion reviews).
The underwear company I am testing out is "MeUndies" from meundies.com, which runs an underwear subscription service. Essentially the idea is for people to sign up and every so often they receive new underwear in the mail. It is apparently a booming business model. You find the type and colour of underwear you like, order one to see if you like it, and then once you have it you realize its a good quality product and then sign up for a subscription.
Anywho...
So what I have received is not 1 but 2 pairs of orange boxer briefs. So I've ditched my black Dockers (also boxer briefs) to try out the MeUndies. First impressions? They fit snugly and they're comfortable. And the bright orange is, well, bright.
On the inside label it says 92% Modal 8% Elasthane and made in Turkey. (In contrast my old Dockers are 100% Cotton and made in Thailand.)
Now to be fair... my Dockers stretched over time. Cotton is NOT Elasthane, which I am guessing is a stretchy material used in fabrics. The MeUndies in contrast are nice and stretchy and should keep its size and shape a lot longer.
And really what else do we expect from underwear? Comfort, colour, and a good fit. If underwear can't keep its shape over the long term and gets stretched out too easily then it really isn't that good. (Sorry, Dockers, it is the truth. You need to up your game with the materials you use.)
Want to learn about MeUndies? Check out their site at https://www.meundies.com/
In the meantime I shall have to wait and see if my girlfriend likes the orange boxer briefs. I am going to guess YES.
Manly Men: A Lesson in How to Look Masculine
This blog doesn't talk much about male fashion (and lets face it, not many men talk about fashion either).
But starting today I am going to be making a deliberate effort to write more male fashion posts.
The thing about fashion for men is that men want to look a very specific way: MANLY.
That means no frilly shirts, no pink and definitely nothing that makes them look wimpy or effeminate.
Lesson #1. Paul Galvin
Paul Galvin (if you're in North America you've probably never heard of him) is an athlete. One of the world's top soccer players. He is VERY manly. Tattoos et al.
But he is also a male fashion aficionado and has a very good grasp of how to dress manly. Men's fashion would be so much better if more men dressed like Paul Galvin.
What he does is:
A) Wear clothes that fits him. No too baggy shirts for him. Not too tight either. Just tight enough to show off his muscles.
B) Wears clothing that looks good regardless of whether he is hanging out at a bar with friends or planning to go all 007 on a speedboat with terrorists.
C) Wears clothes that is both clean and well made. Nobody will accuse him of dressing like a slob.
Once you grasp the simple ABC principles you are on the way to making your manly wardrobe look good.
Lesson #2. Kevin Smith
This is really more a lesson of what not to do.
Kevin Smith's problem is really an issue of self-confidence, binge eating and trying to cover up his fatty bits.
What happened was many years ago someone made fun of Kevin Smith's weight when he had his shirt off and it traumatized him so much he basically decided he was never going to take his shirt off in front of someone again. (According to Kevin Smith his wife has never even seen him with his shirt off.)
Its more than merely not taking his shirt off he also deliberately wears clothing that is too big for him because he wants to hide his bulk (but in reality I would argue it just makes him look bigger).
Another problem Kevin Smith has is that he dresses too casually. His choice of clothing is almost always slovenly. On rare occasions he does wear a black suit and tie, and that is when he looks his best.
So my advice for men who are overweight? Start thinking BLACK SUITS more often. Yes, it takes more effort for you to get dressed, but the suit does 2 things:
A) All men look better in uniform, regardless of your size.
B) Black is slimming.
If you start wearing black suits more often it will boost your confidence levels, which means less binge eating when you're depressed, which means you will either lose weight or maintain your weight.
Lesson #3. Arnold Schwarzenegger
Nobody will ever accuse Arnold Schwarzenegger of being unmanly. The guy could wear a pink tutu and people would still say his muscles more than make up for the pink.
So how do you achieve this?
A) Daily Exercise, a mixture of cardio and weightlifting. I recommend alternating between the two so the different muscle groups have time to repair. Remember you only achieve muscle bulk by RIPPING muscles. Hence the term "ripped".
B) Healthy Diet, again a matter of constant balance. You want to balance your intake of various foods and cut back on sugar, fat and carbs. Vegetables, meat and milk = good. Skip bread entirely and avoid anything where the 1st or 2nd most common ingredient is glucose/fructose.
After all, you don't think Arnold got so big by eating Twinkies did you? Sugar won't make you muscular, but it will make you fat.
The lesson you must learn from Arnold is that exercise is a lifelong commitment, no matter how old you get or what career you enter.
And having a fit body gives you a fashion advantage and more options.

Male Speedo

FASHION - When Daniel Craig emerged from the Caribbean sea in Casino Royale, his brief trunks not only recalled another iconic James Bond swimsuit scene stealer – Ursula Andress emerging from the surf in her flesh coloured bikini in Dr. No – but it ignited a trend.
What started as a ripple when the movie was released two years ago, has now become a full blown tidal wave trend.
Men's swimsuits have gone short, snug and sleek as the Speedo-style suit makes a comeback.

But the skimpy men's bathing suit has been the object of much derision in popular culture thanks to Borat and Will Ferrell, so why is it suddenly anointed cool status?
A recent ad for a Dolce & Gabbana men's fragrance features British supermodel David Gandy, reclining on a yacht, splayed out in a tight white swimsuit, and two of the fashion world's hippest photographers – Matthias Vriens and Terry Richardson – have been pushing a '70s porn aesthetic in their work, Freeman says.

And now Bond is going back to briefs.
Men look at the gadgets and the cars in that movie and then they see Daniel Craig in those snug trunks and it gives them permission – they think, if it's okay for James Bond its okay for me...
But their body better be licensed to thrill.
